Revision cycles delay the publication of your manuscripts.
By working with me—a professional editor and writing instructor with 20 years’ experience—you can decrease the number of revision requests you receive. I make such things possible via two services: manuscript editing and writing instruction.
The foundation of both services rests on my experience successfully accomplishing the following tasks either while a manuscript is in process or immediately before submission for publication:
Spotting and correcting inconsistencies and gaps in a manuscript's abstract, introduction, and discussion so reviewers and journal editors can clearly understand the importance of a project's arguments/results on first read;
Tightening language and improving grammar and argumentation so the logic of the piece flows smoothly and reads beautifully;
Matching text to current AMA or APA style and ensuring that manuscripts adhere to a selected journal’s authors' guidelines;
Evaluating, restructuring, or manually creating effective tables and figures so they clearly illustrate the project's results;
Verifying each cited reference and applying current AMA or APA style.
When you choose my scientific writing instruction, I teach you (or your students or your staff) how to accomplish these goals in lieu of your hiring an editor for each paper you write.
Who can benefit from my services?
Research faculty: Is your time for manuscript writing and revising limited because your focus is—and should be—on your new and ongoing research? You would benefit most from my manuscript editing services.
Returning students: Have you started a DNP, DPH, or PhD program after 5-20+ years away from university and you need help with grammar, IMRD, and APA style? You'd benefit from my scientific writing instruction.
Deans or academic directors: Does your school or department offer nursing, medicine, or public health degree programs with no room in the curriculum for a complete course on scientific writing, but your students must publish manuscripts? You (and they) would benefit by engaging me to provide scientific writing instruction to your students.
University & medical center staff: Do you work for research faculty who must publish their results, and they rely on you to prepare their manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals? Or perhaps your medical center is looking to apply for Magnet status? You'd benefit from either my professional editing services or my scientific writing instruction.
